ERD, Mixed Gas & Rebreather Training
Eastern region can provide the following courses on demand
from clubs and/or individuals subject to minimum student numbers.
Extended range diving
Sports Mixed Gas (Trimix to 50M)
Normoxic Mixed Gas (Trimix to 60M)
Advanced Mixed Gas (Trimix to 80M)
CCR Re-breather

NEW Skill Development Course Organiser Required
I would be interested in receiving expressions of interest from members within Eastern Region who would be interested in taking on this role and joining the core
Regional Team.
Emma continues to be a very efficient SDCO, but her term in office expires at the end of 2007 which means its soon going to be time to let someone else take on
the role.

New Area Coaches Appointed
I would like to welcome two new Area Coaches to the regional team:
South Essex: Timothy Ahern, based in Romford
South Hertfordshire: Paul Compton, based in St Albans
Both area coaches are currently in the process of introducing themselves to thier
allocated branches.

Automatic External Defibrillator Course
BSAC have now introduced AED training. This course can be delivered by the regional coaching team within your branch.
This is a dry course with a duration of about 3 hours.
Contact the SDCO at e.sdco@bsac.com in the first instance who will provide further information and in conjunction with the regional first aid and rescue specialist, assign instructors from the regional team to work with your branch and to deliver AED training.

We have a new mailing list to replace the smart groups list that closed the other year.
All are welcome, as we want to get all the divers in Eastern Area on the mailing list.

Additional SDCs + support for core diver training
Many of our popular SDCs are over-subscribed, filling up well before the closing date. We are always willing to consider setting up additional events, if there is sufficient demand. If you were unable to attend an SDC and would be interested in attending a repeat event, please contact the SDCO (emma.faid@bsac.com or 07801 533325) to register your interest.
There are also various SDCs that we provide in response to demand, including ERD, Compressor Operations, and Gas Blending. If you would be interested in attending an SDC not currently included in the regional programme, please contact the SDCO to discuss the possibility of setting up an additional event.
The regional team is also able to help divers seeking to complete Dive Leader and Advanced Diver training, either by putting divers in touch with adjacent branches, or by setting up a regional event. Further details are available from your area coach, or the SDCO.

Compressor Operations SDC
The Eastern Region Coaching Team is able to offer the Compressor Operations SDC, either as a regional event, or as an in-house course for branches with their own compressor facilities.

Skill Development Courses - how to book
For each course you wish to book, please send to the SDCO:-
1) Copy of online booking (for web bookings) or application form (paper bookings)
2) Proof of current BSAC membership and diver grade
3) Copies of relevant logbook stickers, if applicable (required for certain SDCs, eg Diver Coxn, Advanced Nitrox).
4) Your cheque for the course fee (made payable to BSAC EASTERN REGION).
Please send a separate application form + cheque ifor each SDC, as the administration for each course is administered separately - thank you!
